It surprised me when i had this friend who said she didnt believe in luck. Why i asked her, simply coz she didnt seem to get any. And why did it surprise me, well everyone has to get lucky at some point. Look at me....At times i even consider myself being alive to be lucky, how you ask.....I remember dashing across the road when i was young, and this car just zoomed past me.....about quarter a meter between me and the car. If it happened otherwise, i wouldnt be here at this moment of time. Or the other time i had this girl come up to me and tell me that she likes me very much and would like to go out with me. Thats luck too....And the other time where i decided to pass the ball, but instead it went in goal. Thats luck too....

I am not sure how many people do not believe in luck, but if your a person who play or watch football, you would very much believe in luck.

Therefore, hereby i conclude that ladies believe less in luck than men.

And i am hoping that one of the above luck would happen, coz it hasnt happened. And if you know me well, you should know which one.

A FIRE-FIGHTER'S PRAYER
When i am called to duty, God
wherever flames may race,
give me the strength to save some life
whatever be its age.
Help me embrace a little child,
before it is too late,
or save some older person
from the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert
and hear the weakest shout,
and quickly and efficiently
to put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling
and to give the best in me,
to guard my every neighbour
and protect his property.
And if according to our fate,
i have to lose my life,
please bless with your protecting hand
my children and my mate.
And so i begin my duty tomorrow. Wish me luck.

So i am done with camp life. 7 months of staying in, weekly book-ins and outs, morning exercise, canteen food, water parade and the standard punishments. Not all of it will be missed, but it was one hell of an experience and it would be only right to say that it was fun going through shits together and coming out of it strong.

I have been posted to a nearby fire station. From now on its gonna be the real thing. Real fire and real victims. No dummies, no simulators and safety isnt being supervised by instructors, coz you are on your own with your crew.
